Why Cyprus rewards a campaign

A small island with three doors

For its size, Cyprus concentrates a remarkable amount of business: an East Mediterranean base where European law, English-speaking commerce and a shipping superpower share one coastline.

By sea

Limassol anchors one of the world's largest ship-management clusters, and the island's ports keep goods, crews and maritime services moving between three continents. That maritime world buys too: crew apparel, gifts for the sector's conferences and marina merchandising all punctuate the Cypriot year.

By air

Larnaca and Paphos connect the island to Europe's hubs many times a day, feeding a conference, tourism and events calendar that runs practically year-round. The island's congress hotels fill their halls from October to May, exactly when the rest of Europe cools down.

By business

EU and eurozone membership on a common-law foundation, with English as the working language: familiar ground for British, American and international companies setting up in the sun. For your campaign, that means frictionless briefings and invoices with no surprises.

Island logistics are real: everything arrives by sea or air, so we plan lead times honestly and your merchandise lands when promised, anywhere in the Republic.

Cyprus · up close

The island that gave copper its name

Cyprus is where the word copper comes from, where Aphrodite chose to come ashore, and where someone buried a beloved cat nine and a half thousand years ago, four millennia before Egypt thought of it. It bottles the world’s oldest named wine, squeaks with one of the world’s most protected cheeses, and taught the planet Stoicism through a local boy from Larnaca. Here is a short, hands-on tour of the place we deliver to.

Ten thousand years in the eastern blue

Tap through the layers. Cyprus sits where three continents trade, and every ship that ever crossed the eastern Mediterranean seems to have left something on the beach.

The first villages

At Choirokoitia, one of the oldest settlements in the Mediterranean, people were living in round stone houses nine thousand years ago; the site is UNESCO-listed and you can still walk its lanes. Nearby, at Shillourokambos, archaeologists found a cat carefully buried beside its human around 7500 BC, the earliest evidence of cat-keeping anywhere on Earth. Cyprus, in other words, domesticated the cat before almost anything else was domesticated at all.

Older than you think. Tap one to place it in time.

An island that keeps ending up in the dictionary

For a place you can drive across in an afternoon, Cyprus has left an outsized trail through language, philosophy and literature. Tap one.

Swim three times around the rock

On the coast road between Paphos and Limassol stands Petra tou Romiou, the sea stack where Aphrodite, goddess of love, rose from the foam and came ashore. Local legend is refreshingly specific: swim three full laps around the rock and you earn eternal love, eternal beauty or lifelong luck, swimmer’s choice. Go on, the water is warm.

The Rock of the Roman, Petra tou Romiou, where the goddess of love came ashore. The sea here still shows off about it.

The cheese that refuses to melt

Halloumi is Cyprus in dairy form: a firm, salty, folded cheese of sheep and goat milk that squeaks against your teeth and, crucially, does not melt, which means Cypriots invented a cheese you can grill like a steak. Since 2021 it is EU-protected under both of its names, halloumi and hellim, in Greek and Turkish alike, one of very few foods honoured in two languages at once. Man the grill.

On it goes. The coals are ready and the squeak is loading.

The meze marathon

Order meze in a Cypriot taverna and you have not ordered a meal, you have signed up for an event. Plates arrive in waves, small at first, then decidedly not, until the table disappears and somebody sends out for a second table. A proper meze runs past twenty dishes. Pace yourself; nobody else will pace you.

Island life

Beyond the beaches, Cyprus keeps a countryside of pine mountains, painted chapels and animals with strong opinions. Tap one.

A taste of Cyprus

Cypriot cooking is charcoal, lemon, patience and portion sizes calibrated for departing emigrants. Flip a card.
