    Lost? Let the crowd find it

    A finder has no GPS and no SIM card. It whispers over Bluetooth to phones passing by, and they quietly report back. Lose something on the map and watch it come home.

    Why Dual matters

    Dual finders work with both Apple Find My and Google Find Hub, so one gift suits every phone in the team.

    Locations are end-to-end encrypted, and both networks warn people if an unknown finder seems to travel with them.

    Built for real life

    Water, hands and the working day

    Rain, hand washing, a sweaty run or a swim: what a wearable survives depends on its rating. Run the tests in the water lab, then see why nurses wear their watch on the tunic.

    The IP water lab

    Pick a rating to run its test. IP ratings come from the IEC 60529 standard: the first digit is dust, the second is water.

    Splashing water from any direction.

    Water jets from a nozzle, from any direction.

    Temporary immersion up to 1 m for 30 minutes.

    Dust-tight, and continuous immersion beyond 1 m under conditions set by the maker.

    Everyday splashes, such as hand washing or rain. Not for swimming or showering.

    X means not tested for dust. 6 means dust-tight.

    The tests use fresh, still water. Soap, salt water, hot showers and swimming are not part of them, so always check the maker's guidance.

    Bare below the elbows

    Many hospitals ask clinical staff to keep their wrists bare. One NHS trust policy says wrist watches must not be worn in clinical areas, as they can hinder thorough hand washing. The answer is a watch on the tunic.
